Meet Jim.
Jim started McAleer Epoxy Floors 15 years years ago. He specialized in concrete coatings and design and worked all over the Gulf Coast Region of Southern Alabama. He did some pretty intricate and cool designs, if he does say so himself. About 12 years ago, he added Flake Floor Systems to his offerings. Little did he know that they would take off like wildfire. But they did and, due to demand, eventually ended up being the only service he provided.
His biggest headache when he first started his business was finding the right materials that would deliver a consistent end-product at the right price AND would come from a company that would provide him with support and knowledge. This memory of early frustration was the bee in his bonnet that never fully left him. He began dreaming about starting a materials and product company that would fill that void of Ease of Service that he had struggled with throughout his career. But, his flooring business was successful and his family needed that consistent paycheck so starting a new business was something that would have to wait.
Then, about five years ago, he decided to listen to what his customers were demanding most–more flake floor installations–and he literally cut everything else out of his services offerings except the very profitable and time-efficient Flake Floor System. Boy! Did he not miss doing all of those other types of jobs! He is fond of saying two things:

- “My only regret is that I didn’t make the switch 10 years ago instead of five!”
Last year, with his only daughter’s high school graduation looming, the time was finally right to follow his long-held dream and move from installer to vendor in the flooring industry. He founded Industry Coatings in 2021 and cannot wait to provide each of the Industry Coatings customers all of the things that were so often lacking for him from a vendor experience.
