Epoxy / Flake / Urethane

Materials checklist:

 

Epoxy – ICE 100 or ICE 100 Low Temp.

Qty of 100sqft/gallon   (ex. 6 gallons for 600 sqft)

 

Urethane – ICU 245

Coat 1:  Qty of 250 sqft/gallon (375sqft per kit as each kit is 1 1/2 gallons) for first coat.

Coat 2: Qty of 350 sqft/gallon (525 sqft per kit) for second coat.

 

Flakes:  Coverage rate: Use .08 to .1 lbs./sqft  (ex. 600 sqft  = 48 – 60 lbs.)

Blower

Wire brushes

Crack Filler

Drill, Jiffy Mixer, & an extension cord.

Gauge rake (or flat edge w/pole to spread out epoxy)

Cut-in brushes (3” “Chip” brushes)

Tape: Green, blue & Duct tape (with plastic – see process)

Nitrile gloves

Rollers, extending poles (~ 6ft)

Roller heads – 3/8” Nap with solvent resistant core (qty. of 1 per roller per coat)

Spiked shoes

Masks – with charcoal filters

Clean 5 gallon buckets for epoxy, chips & Urethane

Grinding equipment – with industrial concrete vacuums (can rent).

Hand Sanitizer – Nothing cleans un-cured epoxy off better than hand sanitizer.

Scrapers (flat edge with poles to scrape flakes before urethane)

Clean rags

Razor knife,  Shop – Vac (recommend Ridgid)

For full coverage of chips multiply the square footage by .08 to .1.

For example: 400 square feet needs 400 x .08 = 32 pounds, to 400 x .1 = 40 pounds.

The chips come in 20- and 40-pound boxes.
